Who We Are

 Gary Swart; B.Sc. Eng. (Agric.), M.A. (Org. Leadership), ACC (ICF)


Gary has over 23 years experience in working in the non-governmental (charity) sector (www.tearfund.org) . This experience has included working extensively in West, Central and Southern Africa, as well as in the Balkans and the Middle-East. This experience included designing and implementing grassroots community-based social development and emergency relief programmes.

Since 2005, Gary has been a part of the senior management team of a large international charity based in London, UK. As part of this role overseeing all the international programmes, Gary was responsible for the organisational restructuring and change management programme. For the past 8 years, Gary has pioneered an initiative supporting approximately 100 social entrepreneurs from across Africa, SE Asia, Middle-East and Latin America (www.inspiredindividuals.org).

Prior to working in the non-government sector, Gary worked for 5 years implementing large government-funded private-public partnerships (PPP) in the water and agricultural development sectors. As part of that role, Gary acted for 2 years as Deputy Director for Community Water Supply and Sanitation in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa as part of South Africa’s reconstruction and development programme (RDP).

Gary has an engineering degree from KwaZulu-Natal University, South Africa and master’s degree in Organisational Leadership from Eastern University, USA. In addition Gary has completed a diploma part-time in Project Management and is an Associate Accredited Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation.

Gary’s passion is to support individuals and organisations in reaching their full potential. Gary loves spending time one-one with individuals, and with small teams of executives, to help them see how they can bring positive transformational change to their communities and sphere’s of influence.
